This was undertaken by Schottler Consulting.

Through an extensive literature review, interviews and observations the research sought to identify structural characteristics of Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) within Australia and to examine the impact of different structural characteristics on gambling behaviour (particularly among problem gamblers).

The study was commissioned and funded by Gambling Research Australia (GRA) to meet an agreed research priority of GRA members - to conduct research to inform the development of gaming machine standards for improved consumer protection.
